The Finance
Department plans, directs, and coordinates the fiscal affairs of the
City in accordance with specific objectives established by legal and
professional standards. It provides for the maintenance of the City's
financial records, develops related systems, and provides management
with information necessary for sound fiscal decisions. This includes
appropriation control, cost and revenue accounting, accounts receivable,
payroll, accounts payable, and business licensing. The Finance Department
is also responsible for investing and safeguarding the City's cash in
accordance with City Council investment policies.
Investment
Advisory Committee
The City of
Villa Park has organized an Investment Advisory Committee charged with
the responsibility to offer advice with respect to the City's investments
and the investment portfolio strategy of the City.
The Investment Advisory Committee consists of the City Council's Finance
Committee and four members who are residents of the City. One of the
public members is an alternate member, participating in the meetings
but voting only when a regular member is absent.
The
Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) meets quarterly on Wednesdays
after City Council Meetings at 8:30 a.m. Meetings are held in the Council
Chambers at 17855 Santiago Boulevard, Villa Park, CA 92861.
