No, technically, you do not
need a permit provided you are not closing off any streets or cul-de-sacs.
The noise ordinance applies to parties and restricts excessive noise between
10 p.m. and 7 a.m. However, if any deputy responds to any large party,
gathering or event and that deputy determines that there is a threat to
the public health, safety or general welfare, the deputy may issue a written
notice to the host or hosts and to the owner of the property if he is
present that the party is a disturbance and unless they voluntarily stop,
the deputy may be required to take action to stop it. If the deputy spends
additional time or equipment to stop the party, the property owner and
occupant may be charged the cost of service of $500 or more for each response.
Actual costs of response may be charged in excess of $500.
If you are having a large gathering
that will cause a parking impact, it is suggested that you call City Hall
at least two days prior so we can alert the Sheriff's Department to avoid
potential parking situations causing citations.
