The Friends provide funding for Playaways, Books on CDs, Books on Tape, Magazine Subscriptions, and books or equipment not included in the budget of the Orange County Public Library System.

Our Goals
  • Continually develop fund raising ideas such as Chinese dinner night, the VP5K run/walk, Angel games, progressive dinners and meet the author luncheons
  • Recognize donors regularly
  • Promote use of library facilities routinely
  • Publish at least two newsletters per year
  • Assist with special appropriate programs
  • Identify and perform functions to raise funds for library goals and determined by FOVPL
  • Promote the Friends and their activities to develop membership in support of this vital cause
  • Maintain liaison with OC Public Libraries for support and to expedite full use of available funds and services
  • Maintain liaison with the city of Villa Park for support and to expedite full use of funds, services, and physical area of library
  • Implement a link to the Villa Park web site
  • Keep our library open the maximum number of days per week
  • Keep our library open the maximum number of hours per day
