| Our History |
| The Friends of the Villa Park Library was founded in 1995 when the County of Orange
bankruptcy led officials to threaten closure of many small libraries. Villa Park demonstrated its small city volunteer spirit with tireless
dedication and the Friends of the Villa Park Library was incorporated as a 501c3
organization. Then came generous support from concerned citizens in the cities
of Orange and Villa Park and funds were raised to keep the Villa Park Library Branch
open. In the following years, the Friends sponsored many fundraisers and civic
programs which brought us to February 7, 2009. On that date the Friends proudly opened
the doors to Villa Park’s new “State of the Art” Library. An $80,000 renovation
was made possible by the generosity and caring on the part of our residents, The
Friends of the Villa Park Library, and local businesses. We, who live, work and play in
Villa Park can enjoy the updated resources and services of our very own local
library. Be sure to come see it if you haven’t already. We know you will be
pleased. |
