General Plan
Update
On October 26, 2010, the City Council adopted a comprehensive
update of its General Plan. The Comprehensive General Plan Update represents a complete updating of the City’s
1991 General Plan (amended in 2004 for the update of the Housing Element) including
Land Use, Housing, Circulation, Growth Management, Seismic & Safety, Noise, and
Open Space/Conservation Elements. The General Plan establishes a Community
Vision supported by goals, policies and action programs to guide the City for the next 10 to 20 years.
Villa
Parks General Plan is broken down into eight Elements: Land Use, Circulation,
Housing, Open Space & Conservation, Seismic & Safety, Noise,
Growth Management, and Recycling. Each element will be evaluated for
applicability with current practice and any anticipated growth and consistency
with dependent elements. All General Plan support documents will also
be updated at this time. Much of the update tasks will be the responsibility
of city staff; however, certain tasks will require the assistance of
professional consultant services, such as the updating of noise and
traffic studies.
