10th Annual HalloweenFest
Sunday, October 30, 2011
4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Villa Park Towne Centre
Vendor Application
Coloring Contest
The night before Halloween, the VP Towne Center suddenly becomes the happy haunting grounds for young ghosts, goblins, a few
pirates, some skeletons, and lots of princesses who have escaped from
their local castles. Plus, a mysterious green witch has appeared, year
after year. Her cackle is so loud that it scares the bats out of the trees and
right on to the Rotary grill. Seems this witch must be a good one, though,
as she is always offering to help with judging of the costumes, dunkinʼ for
apples with the kids or finding sweet treats for them. She has even been
seen making sure that the grilled Batwurst is prepared to Ghoulia Child
perfection for the Rotary Club Monster Munch. Does she live in a haunted
house in our town? Or, has she just re-possessed one?
Now, prior to Spook Night, students can enter the HalloweenFest
COLORING CONTEST. Entry forms will be available at
VPE and Serrano or can be picked up at the Coffee Grove as well as at
VP City Hall. Yes, all submitted entries will be displayed and there will be
winners and prizes! Several artistic Cerro Villa students, who are always
known to be on the cutting edge, will be carving some pumpkins for our
exhibition. All youngsters will have the opportunity to uniquely decorate
their own pumpkins and enter them in the ANNUAL PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST. Come take a look
at all these phenomenal works of creative expression!
A highlight of HALLOWEENFEST is the continual parade on the VP stage of the interesting
COSTUMES in search for the CONTEST winners. Will Mummyʼs Little Monster be too cute to scare anyone
this year? Who will look the most like Harry Potter or Hannah Montana? Could the skeletonʼs have a bone to
pick with the judges? Youʼll just have to join the crowd and enjoy them all for yourself.
In keeping with the Halloweenfest spirit, SCRAPS Dog Bakery will take complimentary Halloween photos of Pets and their People (costumes and people optional) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, Villa Park's Halloweenfest Day. Also, you may enter your animal (Dog, cat, bird, pig, alpaca, or even you lizard) in the 2nd Annual HalloweenFest Pet Costume Contest. For further info please call SCRAPS at (714) 998-2275.
Those parking their brooms near the City Hall door can catch a free HAYRIDE around the VP Towne
Centre and check out all the action that is brewing. Bales of thanks to the Frackelton Family for providing their
hay wagon. Close by there will be an opportunity to CREATE a HALLOWEEN CRAFT for only $1.00.
No tricks will be necessary this evening as costumed youngsters will have the opportunity to VISIT
LOCAL MERCHANTS for TREATS throughout the Towne Centre. For more substantial fare, several
organizations and schools will be selling pizza, hot dogs, roasted corn, kettle corn, etc. Plan now to bring the
whole family, including Grandma and Grandpa, for DINNER at the HALLOWEENFEST and support all the
local fund raising efforts. Yes, itʼs a night to Eat, Drink Ghoul-aid and be Scary!
Special thanks to the Villa Park Community Services Foundation and local business owners!
